Solicitor - EPC - Energy - CEE


We are looking for an Associate to join the CEE arm of our leading Energy Team.

The Team advises on the full range of energy matters - oil, gas, electricity, renewables and climate change as well as some water and rail.

Our diverse client base includes leading oil and gas producers, contractors, electricity transmission, generation and supply businesses, energy traders, regulators and public sector clients.


We are looking for solid and proven Energy elated experience. Although CEE experience is not necessary, a general interest in CEE would be useful. This position will be based in our Moscow office.

Projects Associate

Our projects team includes 4 partners, and 19 other qualified lawyers. Consistently rated highly in the legal directories, the team works across a variety of sectors including transport, health, education, waste, energy and defence.  We have particular expertise in PPP/PFI projects, both domestic and international. Clients are mainly private sector sponsors but they also act for public sector clients on a number of high profile projects. The team works closely with the Project Finance team.

Associates work with all of the partners, providing them with a real breadth and depth of work, although individual preferences are taken into account.

To join this team you will already have gained a significant of expertise in projects work, including UK based projects, although some international experience would be advantageous. This experience will almost certainly have included reviewing, amending and negotiating project agreements and schedules and step-down agreements and evaluating the impact of changes made to those agreements. You should also be experienced in maintaining / managing issues lists and closure lists and will have gained an understanding of subcontracting structure and principles. We consider it likely that this experience will have been gained over at least 2 years’ post qualification in a rated projects team.

EU Competition Associate

Our highly rated EU Competition team includes 2 partners, 2 senior associates and 3 associates and works closely with our extensive network of international offices. The team advises on behavioural issues (cartels, abuse of dominance etc), mergers (EU, UK and multi-jurisdictional), procurement work (in projects, regulated industries and the public sector) and significant state aid issues for UK/ EU governments, especially with regard to major infrastructure projects. It is fortunate to work with a client base covering a wide range of sectors, including life sciences, energy and utilities, financial services, construction, consumer products and TMT.

This junior role within the team will allow you to build on your existing experience of competition law, growing your experience alongside some of the UK’s best lawyers. You should already have gained a reasonable range of UK/EU competition experience in a recognised competition team within private practice so that you can ‘hit the ground running’. Our team is known for its pragmatic, prompt commercial advice and you should be able to demonstrate that you are able to maintain this reputation in your own approach.

Professional Indemnity Associate - Bristol


A junior contentious role for a professional indemnity associate in our Bristol office.

We have one of the largest professional indemnity (P.I.) practices in Bristol. Based in our Insurance and Reinsurance Group, our Bristol office comprises 4 partners and over 20 fee earners handling professional indemnity and/ or Directors and Officers claims.

Our P.I. work includes a wide range of claims handled on behalf of insurers, including architects, surveyors & valuers, D&C contractors, accountants, insurance brokers, IFAs, pensions trustees and lawyers (but excluding clinical negligence claims).

Continued growth has created a vacancy for a junior associate to handle PI claims. The role will involve handling a personal caseload in addition to assisting more experienced colleagues across a variety of different professional claims, offering variety and plenty of client contact and responsibility.

Ideally you will already have assisted on or handled a variety of professional indemnity claims on behalf of insurer clients. Essentially you will have a strong academic background and have qualified as a solicitor with a highly rated regional or City firm. You will have excellent commercial litigation experience including solid drafting, negotiating, and other communication skills and you will also be able to display initiative and good client relationship management ability.
