Developing our people is at the heart of what we do
|
 |
From the moment you join as a trainee solicitor, you can expect plenty of responsibility, variety and opportunity.
Training contracts
- We have 60 trainee solicitor vacancies a year.
- Training contracts last for two years. During this time you will have four six-month placements or ‘seats’, gaining experience in different practice areas.
- To develop you and your legal skills even further, you could be seconded to one of our international offices or even spend time on secondment with a client.
- You’ll be encouraged to broaden your skills by getting involved in no-fee (pro bono) community activities.
- You will be allocated a supervisor for each seat who will help with your career planning. You will also have a mentor for the two years of your contract – a fee-earner who will take a close interest in your development.
- As well as on-the-job learning, we place great emphasis on training, so you will attend a variety of courses, lectures and workshops to give you both management skills (such as language tuition and business skills) and technical expertise.
- As a requirement of the Law Society, you will also be fast-tracked through the compulsory elements of the Professional Skills Course.
