Following consultation with users of the SMS and lobbying from lawyers and business, the UKBA has announced a number of changes to SMS effective 22 February 2010.Please click here to access relevant UK Border Agency notification.
MaintenanceThe most welcome change for sponsors is the ability to certify maintenance on-line rather than having to provide a separate letter for each Tier 2 migrant. However, we understand that sponsors will still have to provide a letter for any family members confirming that they will support them if required during the first month of employment. These changes will help to streamline the process and avoid delays which can sometimes occur in obtaining sign off on the maintenance letter. We will provide further updates as soon as they are available.
