The FS Regulatory Team sits at the centre of the Financial Institutes Practice and is one of the largest specialist teams in the City and one of the first to be established..

The Team is unusual in that it is a freestanding practice and is not part of the Corporate, Banking or Litigation departments.  The Team has a blue chip client base, including household names across high street and commercial banking, insurance, funds and many other sectors.  The breadth and quality of its work is reflected by the team’s consistently high ratings in directories, such as Legal 500 and Chambers.

The Team works closely with funds, corporate and banking lawyers in the UK and with CMS colleagues across Western and Central Europe; there are banking, insurance and funds groups organised across CMS, which has offices in more than 35 European locations. The Team handles advisory, transactional and contentious work for regulated firms; it also advises individuals who are regulated by FSA as approved persons. The team includes a mix of legal disciplines.
