A quick reference guide to the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) Order 1987 and Permitted Changes of Use (England and Wales only).
This note summarises the 1972 Use Classes Order and the 1987 Use Classes Order, incorporating the amendments made in the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) (Amendment) Order 1995 and the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) (Amendment) Order 2005. The 2005 amendment order was published on 21st January 2005 and came into force on 21st April 2005. Certain qualifications and limits will apply in some cases and reference should be made to the full terms of the order. The planning team is able to assist with any questions of clarification.
